Understanding the types of breakouts - then what to do !

Educating my clients @jkskinbeautique on various types of breakouts is a daily occurance, what I love are the results we see day in day out..

Sometimes they appear completely out of nowhere and other times you feel it coming- then other times we pick and make the situation totally worse. There are various types of breakouts so we are going to help you identify the difference and understand how to treat them.
COMEDONES / BLACKHEADS:
Usually a hair follicle that has become congested from oil, dirt, dead skin cells built up in the pore. Can also be the result from heavy products topically applied- primers, foundations, powders, wrong moisturiser etc.
Black heads are already oxidised (exposed to air) and this is what darkens the colour of them. WHAT TO DO?? Change to a lighter make up regime, skin steaming, exfoliate once a week and visit a skin aesthetician- (@jkskinbeautique ;) ) for extractions.
CYSTIC:
Usually within the acne family or under the internally triggered umbrella. Cystic breakouts are more chronic, painful, red and irritated.
We recommend to see a professional skin aesthetician or dermatologist and be guided on to a skin care regime that works on building up the health of the skin, while also clearing the bacteria’s forming. Consume 2L of water daily and have a glass of celery juice first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
Mechanica:
In simple terms- caused by sweat!
You guessed it, increasing your work outs and not properly cleansing can cause this. Also teens that are excreting high amounts of oils and not cleaning their skin properly.
Steer away from abrasive granular exfoliants and opt for a thorough double cleanse daily and an enzyme based product to chew up the excess build ups without scratching and irritating the skin.
BACTERIAL:
Very common and often found in the t-zone or the individuals oily zones.
Caused by sweat and a over production of sebum/oils. Avoid anything making your skin feel squeaky clean as it can lead to an impaired barrier. Instead opt for a basic routine that cleans and balances the skin health. Over night clearing treatments are fabulous, hence why I created my own Hormonal Clear Concentrate. And try consuming 2L + of water daily, celery juice and zinc supplements.
